Oscars 2017

This year’s Oscars was extremely boring to me. Honestly, I have never been a big fan of the award show, but this year I was hoping for a bit more. The performances were the one thing I looked forward to. We had Justin Timberlake perform. It was alright but of all people why him? I feel as if they did not take enough time to thoroughly think this through. I think maybe a livelier performer like Bruno Mars would have been outstanding. I say this because the Oscars is already a serious moment. Everything is so serious. I feel as if to lighten the mood a bit, they needed someone who would get the crowd rolling. I can say that I was very pleased with Moonlight winning best picture. It was truly a great movie and deserved every piece of acknowledgment it received that night. I really hope that next year’s performer will be someone who can lighten up the mood and take the whole serious vibe away. I think the viewer number for the Oscars would raise tremendously if they had better performers. Maybe having more than one performer will also help.
